It was back in 2011, when Ray & Giannis, today known as TWINSANITY, began to busk & improvise on the streets of Athens, Greece, while originally being born in Ashford Surrey, UK.
This has earned them the ability to rap bi-lingual, with most of their lyrics being in English.
They get noticed very soon and connected with the Greek underground Hip Hop community. This resulted in them being included in Bashment Records, a Greek independent record label.
Following the methods of any independent musician, they soon uploaded their first track on YouTube, while working on their first Long Player.
“The Quest” was released in 2016, consisting of 16 tracks, featuring collabs with established artists of the Greek Hip Hop scene, such as Taf Lathos and MC Yinka plus street musicians such as Naal and Babou G. The album also came out with a mixed artwork coming from 2 separate artists from different sides of the world, representing Graffiti and Street Culture, Billy Gee from Athens and Flema from Bogota, Colombia. “The Quest” was released on Bashment Records and immediately cemented them on the forefront of the Greek underground Hip Hop scene, receiving critical acclaim, and love from the roots, the street that is.
This was followed by a vast number of Live performances throughout Greece, on self-produced shows, as opening act for International artists such as Foreign Beggars, Rodney P and The Pharcyde to name but a few and included in the Lineup for Big festivals such as Ruck n Roll, Thessaloniki Hip Hop Festival, Street Mode Festival, Anti-Racist Festival, Legalize It ! and more.
From day one, TWINSANITY stand for Anti-Racism, Anti-Sexism, Solidarity and are standing against any form of oppression through their lyrics and actions. This, along with their hard work and consistency flew them over to Glasgow, Scotland in the recent 2018, to perform at Breaking The Borders Festival, initializing their international stream of performances.
Their latest offering, is a prestigious collab with Bless from the infamous Shahmen, with a joined track called “Mediterranean”, available on line on all music platforms.
Today, TWINSANITY have finished recording their new Album, entitled “Vulture Culture”, featuring producers from all over the globe. The Album is due on release within the second quarter of 2019 via Melting Records. This indicates the next chapter for the band, aiming to expand outside the Greek borders, so watch this space.
